Errors that may occur in the evaluation of the practical format

The practice format is a form of development using an application framework.

Because this format allows candidates a great deal of freedom, the problems that arise are varied.

This article provides an explanation of the cases in which evaluation fails.

There are two major patterns of evaluation failure: cases where the submitted code does not work and cases where the code fails during the evaluation process. Each is explained below.

Cases where the submitted code does not work

The following patterns can be considered in cases where the submitted code does not work.

  • The submitted code fails to build.
    • There is a problem with the code submitted by the candidate, and the code cannot be built in the first place. In this case, it is impossible to grade the code, and the evaluation itself will be terminated.
  • Changes have been made to the health check port used to verify server startup.

    • This is a case where a request cannot be received because some changes have been made to the port or its implementation used to start the server based on the submitted code and check its operational status.

Cases where the code fails during the evaluation process

Failure during the evaluation process is a problem that occurs when the implementation of an endpoint prepared for evaluation has been unintentionally modified and evaluation cannot be performed properly.

For example, in a test question where a TODO task is created, there is a case where an endpoint is prepared in advance to retrieve the created task.

The logic for acquiring the tasks has been modified, so the evaluation cannot be performed properly.

When these problems occur, the score for the problem in question will be zero.
