How to Select Questions for Testing

An essential part of conducting a coding test is the selection of questions. This page will introduce you to the question format and the skills you can look for, followed by questions tailored to actual cases.

Sample questions tailored to positions

New Graduate Recruitment

This is the base for the combination.
  • Algorithm format (Difficulty: easy)
  • Multiple Choice (Difficulty: Easy)
If you have a large number of new graduates, or if you are looking for high-level engineers, we recommend that you add the normal level of the algorithm format so that there will be shades of grey among the test takers.
In such a case, the combination will be as follows.
  • Algorithm format (Difficulty: Easy)
  • Algorithm format (Difficulty: Normal)
  • Multiple Choice (Difficulty: Easy)

Mid-career

This is the base combination.

Web Engineer (Front-end, Back-end)
  • Two questions from Algorithm format  (Normal, Difficult)
  • Take-home Project OR System Design OR Multiple Choice Format
Infrastructure Engineer
  • two questions from Algorithm format  (Normal, Difficult)
  • System Design OR Multiple Choice Format
Data Scientist
  • 2~3 questions from Algorithm format (python, SQL)
  • Multiple Choice Format (optional)

Please change the difficulty level of the Algorithm format according to the level you are looking for in the middle of the course.

Please select the Take-home Project based on the framework you are using, and the system design format is more accessible since there are few questions. For the Multiple Choice Format, if you know what is essential for mid-career, please select that.

How much total time is recommended?

  • We recommend the number of questions to be kept within 45~1 hours for screening new graduates and 1-2 hours for mid-career.
  • 2-3 questions in various formats and difficulty levels are recommended.
